The Wave is an amazing red sandstone rock formation located in the Arizona and Utah border on the slopes of the Coyote Buttes in the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness, on the Colarado Plateau.

Permit is needed to visit this site and only 20 people are allowed to visit The Wave each day.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management limits access to protect The Wave’s delicate red sandstone formation and to prevent overcrowding at the designated wilderness site in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument in St. George, Arizona.
